Donation of $4175,00to the Red Cross for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti

The Black Coalition of Quebec thanks all those who contributed to the fundraising brunch on Sunday January 24, 2010 for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. We are humbled by the generosity and solidarity of the population in supporting the people of Haiti at this moment of crisis. The Coalition raised the amount of four thousands one hundred and seventy five dollars ($4175, 00) for the victims of the earthquake which was given to the Red Cross.

As Francine Laplante stated in the Journal Metro on January 25, 2010, we should be proud of the solidarity of Quebecois who responded to the cries in Haiti in such large numbers and who supported and gave so much from their heart- Indeed, I am proud to be a Quebecois. While in humility, when faced with the vicious cycle of racial profiling and racial discrimination, we will always reject the suggestion of Francine Laplante to remain silent.
